Position Summary The Director, Payroll Operations will lead the University?s (non-Medical Center) Payroll Operations including: ensuring the complete, compliant, accurate and timely execution of pay cycles, remittance and reconciliation of tax liabilities and other withholding, collection of time and attendance data, preparation and issuance of tax filings and W-2?s, and reconciliation of payroll-related data in the University?s PeopleSoft general ledger and data warehouse. Monitor and review operational and service metrics to identify and implement process improvements. Serve as Payroll subject matter expert for University?s PeopleLink service center and ensure escalated cases are resolved in a timely, courteous manner. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration and/or CPA. Required Experience: 7+ years relevant experience managing a large and complex payroll organization, overseeing payroll operations for a large employee population in a multi-cycle environment. Preferred Experience: 7+ years experience overseeing payroll operations for at least 10,000 employees in a multi-cycle environment. Multi-state and global experience a plus. Experience with accounting practices and human resources / payroll within a higher education environment a plus. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Working knowledge of a variety of software applications including familiarity with Workday HCM, WorkForce Software, PeopleSoft Financials, and ServiceNow.
